Is the temp high? Sometimes when I cook I high heat and something is fatty it will set the smoke detector off.

When we lived in MA ours would do the same thing - it set off the detector in the bedroom if it smoked the slightest bit from any spilled foods.

we had a smoke detector near the kitchen that was the wrong kind, bedroom smoke detectors are much too sensitive, maybe you need to change it to the kitchen type.

Ok...I did clean it before cooking but I am afraid residue or something got into the inner workings of the stove...and..the smoke detector is not directly in the kitchen its in front of the bedroom....the bedroom is off the kitchen

If I put the over on near 400 degrees or above, the smoke detector always goes off when I open the oven door. This is even when the oven is clean and there is no smoke.

You don't need smoke to set it off. It could be just dirty or the cleaner is not really wipped off inside. I used to rinse it very very well after I used the cleaner.

The first night we used our oven, our kitchen was filled with smoke, the alarm went off and our fireman neighbor came over. I think it's normal.Itls like the stuff they put on needs to be burned off.
