Why is there a "No Sleeping" tag on the boppy's?

DS sits in his boppy alot and cat naps in it during the day. He is comfortable in it and loves it. I also lay him on his stomach in it sometimes for tummy time. Of course I dont leave him in it over night, but is there any particular reason they aren't supposed to sleep in them?

I would think if the baby sleeps in the bobby and slips in the middle the baby can suffocate. I can be wrong but I think that is the only thing that makes sense.

Yup, I was always afraid to let DS fall asleep in there, all it would take is for him to slide down and turn his little head a little Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The same reason you are told no soft bedding (blankets, stuffed animals) in the crib.... they would compress in the baby's was face down on them...

I was wondering the same thing...

I think if you are feeding them in it, and they take a little cat nap in it while you are with them, its fine...

I think that is there for people who may think they can just use the Boppy every night as a bed for the baby....

Yeh I just let him lay in it when if I get lazy when feeding him or if he is catnapping, but I never leave him alone in it. But he doesnt slide down either in it but I can see what can possibly happen.

Oh my gosh, a few years ago I knew someone that had there daughter in the boppy on the living room floor with there 4 year old son. When they came back in the living room the baby had died. They said the cause was SIDS. It makes me so nervous and I never let my DD sleep in it unless I'm in the room.
