why is he changing his sleep habits

DS is 6m was always such a good sleeper at night but lately he's been getting up at like 3:30 or 4am. He will go back to sleep BUT only for maybe another hour and then he's up again. I'm really Chat Icon Chat Icon b/c I have to get up for work in the am. Is this normal? He doesnt cry right away - he just hangs out and then whines & then cries after a little while.
if you've have experience with this - do they go back to their old sleep habits?

Re: why is he changing his sleep habits

Could be a number of things...hungry (growth spurt), teething, cold or hot in his room?

And Christopher does this all the time in phases. He'll go back to through the night Chat Icon

Well I can't speak from personal experience because my kids ( especially Chat Icon ) are terrible sleepers and always have been Chat Icon

However.......it could be a growth spurt or possibly he is about to master a new skill ( I always had this issue with Brandon when he was about to strt to do something new: crawling, standing, walking etc...)

Also could be teeth waking him up Chat Icon

Its driving me nuts. I dont know if its his teeth b/c he's not upset - he's just awake. He kind of hangs out and then starts crying b/c he wants to be held. I rock him back to sleep and put him down but he's up again soon after Chat Icon Could it be his teeth even if he doesnt seem to be in pain?

The discomfort of the teething may be just enough to jostle him awake, kwim ?

Also, I always like to check the environment ....Neighbor leaving for work at a new time, timers on lights, sprinklers going on, newspaper delivery man pulling into driveway etc...

These little stinkers are hard to figure out aren't they ??Chat Icon

Oh they sooooo are. I just wish I had the answer to every issue...know what I mean? Rather than all this trial and error. Its just frustrating b/c he was doing soooo good sleeping at night. I thought they went from being bad sleepers as a newborn to good sleepers as an infant.....not the other way around. Chat Icon
