Who watched the Oprah special last night?
I was bawling throught the whole thing.
For those who didn't see it, it was a special about Oprah opening a school in South Africa for girls.
First of all, I think Oprah is so amazing. She's not just opening her wallet and saying to build a school and name it after her. She is building a future for these girls, who would otherwise never have one. She is putting in a lifelong commitment to seeing after these girls and making sure they better their lives.
And watching how articulate, poised, and genuinely thankful these girls are broke my heart. They were overjoyed to be accepted into a school. Something we take for granted for our children. It was truly inspiring watching that special. I hope they periodically have specials where they keep us posted on the girls' progress and development.
