who has Empire insurance??
we are getting Empire Blue cross blue sheild on December 1st through DH's job and their website is annoying
what is the difference between a PPO and HMO??

We have Empire, and I love it!
I'm pretty sure that for PPO you choose all your own doctors (no referrals) and with HMO you have a primary dr and then need referrals.

In my company you get to choose whether you want HMO or PPO. I went with PPO--the HMO plan really restricts which doctors you can choose. It's a great plan though.

PPO's are generally more expensive than HMO's.
You should really check with your husband's company to see the difference in price because there will be a substantial difference.
Like stated before PPO you choose your own doctors and HMO you need a PCP and they give you refrrrals when needed...
