Who gets facials here regularly? if so what kind and where?
I think i want to start getting a facial every 3-4 months.
What types of facials are out there? I saw once on Oprah doc talking about wrinkle decreasing/preventative facials. Anyone heear of this?
Where do you go?

Me! I get a normal facial...I used to go every other month before the wedding. Just a facial with extractions. $75. Before the wedding...I did a Vitamin C facial, which was amazing. I also sometimes get the crystal peel microdermabrasion.
I go to Donna D'Angelone in Smithtown; she's at my dermatologist's office. Laserderm Dermatology. She's a licensed esthetician. She's great. You're in a doc's office, but she still dims the lights and puts on tranquil music, and when I break out...she fixes me up real good! I need to go actually. Been a few months!

i was waiting for you to answer Lana.
You have such beautiful skin. Im trying to up my beauty regimen.
im already a freak and use aloe vera, cocoa butter, nivea anti aging cream concoction that i made every evening. I even just switched to Murad's products too....
I wanna look like Sophia Loren when im her age
so what exactly is a microdermabrasion?

Oh, thank you...my old skin would laugh at you! Twas not always so. Actually, microderm REALLY helped prevent me from having scars from old breakouts; it basically peels off the top layer of skin, sloughing off old cells. If you do a series, like 4 in a row, you get big results. After one, though...your face is very smooth. The crystal peel is the stuff....no microderm from the store or cream can match it. My office just got the new diamond peel and Donna gave me a little sample last time I went in....she went over my face with the pen a few times. Of course, now i want to book a session. She'll tell you what works for you, though.

Lana, can I ask a question? after the microdermabrasion is your face reddened a few days?? or are you ok the next day?? i have been thinking of doing this for some time now but I am afraid..your place sounds really good..I would like to try it, and from the pics I have seen of you your skin is beautiful..

I have gotten a glycolic peel and microderm abrasian before my wedding
I went to Borte in E. Northport & the Red Door Salon
I would like to continue to go back but I haven't had time yet

I promised myself I would go regularly after I found a school, Christine Valmy International School that does a European Facial plus mask for only $30...
The only catch you are in a room with other people getting facials and a student performs the facial..
I have to admit...aside from being in a room with others..it was great..
I go to the one in NJ, but there is also one on 5th Ave in NYC..

I go to Mario Badescu in Manhattan. The place itself is not the most relaxing atmosphere, but the facials are great. I love the Glycolic Acid facials. Last time I went I saw Carol Alt in the waiting area!

I go to a woman in Carle Place...she is awesome! I have been going for about 5 years and also started getting micro derm right before my wedding...my face was kinda red right after the first one...like a sunburn and then it went away...but after that my skin was fine

When I lived in the city and before my wedding , I also went to Mario Badescu for my facials for about 6 months prior... I went every 4 weeks and got the regular facial, glyvolic peel and vitamin C treatment... Although it is more like a doctors office atmosphere and it is located on the main floor of an apartment building, the facials were amazing..... I even remember the facialist I used--Irina...
By the way I still use there products and they are very affordable-- I either order them online or go to Nordstroms...
They are reasonably priced for a facials and they always give out samples when you leave..

A little red, yes....but I usually go on a Thursday night...come home, and when I wake up, the skin is really nice. If she extracted a pimple or two, then I'm a little red, but everything heals nice and fast.And thank you so much....it wasn't always nice, but it is a work in progress!!

I too go to Mario Badescu, but months before my wedding, I found out about the facials near my house (in Bklyn) - and I've been going there ever since.

But most of the time I get them done through my dermotologist- BEST facials ever!
