Which shop is better for ordering a bridesmaid dress?
The wedding is out of state for me - the dress that was chosen is at
The Wedding Center in Commack
Angel Bridals in East Islip
Renate in Lindenhurst
Village Bridal and Boutique in Babylon
Of these places, is there one that I should absolutely stay away from, specifically when it comes to alterations? I know nothing about any of them.
Thanks for any feedback.

Please don't use The Wedding Center in Commack! I ordered my BMs dresses there, and it was a headache!

I went to Village bridal in Babylon to look at dresses and they were great. Didnt order from there but got the feelign if I did everything would have been fine.
The one is Commack is a factory and a bit crazy if you ask me.
I have heard good and bad about the place in Lindenhusrt but have never been there

The only one I've been to is Village Bridal. I didn't wind up ordering from there, but only because they didn't have the particular designer I decided to go with. I loved that place.

Village Bridal is the most High End.
I've gotten dresses from Renates and Angel Bridals and didn't have problems with either.

Village Bridal is affiliated with the woman who designed my dress - I would use them.
Commack is BAD news.
A friend of mine used Angel - loved them. I went there and thought they were a bunch of bitchie asshats.
My bro did a business deal with Renate - no bueno.

i got all my dresses at Village Bridal. They were great.
But Id be concerned with all the dresses not being ordered together. If the fabric isnt from the same dye lot you can have variations in color.

The wedding party is spread across the country. The bride is aware of the dye lot issue and is unconcerned as long as we all order by a certain date. That's not what I asked though

i should add to JC297, I know you were being helpful and i'm way out of wedding planning, but my friend's sister talked so much about dye lots last month! thanks though

Dd is in a wedding on Saturday as the flower girl. 
We went to village bridal of Babylon and everything went smoothly. I know its not the same as a bridesmaid, but if we had a bad experience I'd tell you to avoid it.

Pfft! I think the dye lot thing is a load of bullish!t to be honest. It's a good way for one salon to get all the business. My sister and junior bridesmaid ordered there dresses from different salons 500 miles apart. No issues.

i got my wedding dress at village bridal. I loved the place. alterations were ok, i mean it ultimately came out great but they do make mistakes and you have to be on top of them. I'd still recommend them above all others that were listed.
