Which Credit Card?

I'd like to get a credit card where you earn airline miles, but I'm not sure which one to apply for. Are there any cards that don't charge a fee? Which one is the best to get? Thanks.

Most charge fees for airline miles. I have AMEX membership points - I think the fee is $35/per year on a regular card. I prefer them because I can use it for airline miles or gift certificates to different stores. Last year's shopping for DH were all from AMEX points - pottery barn, etc.

Re: Which Credit Card?

Dont go near Amex. I worked for them for 5 yrs and it's a charge card not a credit card. Which means great you earn double reward points however at the end of every month you have to pay in full. (except for Optima but I dont think Optima has an airline program) They have the highest interest rate and are SOB's if you are even 1 day late. Those who are good, use the card all the time and pay in full on time they treat like gold but the minute you are one day late they will hunt you down and send your account to their lawyers. Then the lawyers hunt you down. You cant even speak to their customer service. It's Amex's way or no way. I had to dispute a charge and I was so angry I told the CS person off and I even filed a letter with the CEO explaining how rude the person was and what made matters worse is I even worked for the company at the time. If that is how she treated a fellow employee then how do they treat the customers.

I had 3 Amex cards and I am so glad I got rid of all 3. I had green, optima, and blue. I had membership rewards and unfortunatly never had a chance to turn them in.

I have Delta sky rewards and love it. Unfortunatly I dont have 20,000 miles yet so I cant cash them in.

American Airlines Mastercard. It's issued by Citibank and is WONDERFUL. We've gotten sooooo much already and at this point, it looks like we'll be able to get 2 RT tickets to Hawaii by our 2nd anniversary. HIGHLY recommended.

We have this card as well and have earned so many points. It is a great card. My only issue with it is that you can only use it on American Airlines. I would like a card for points with more selections on where to use the points.

Another vote for Amex. We have the membership reward points which are great because there are various airlines you can use. I am a person who pays my bills on time and doesn't carry a balance, so Amex was the way to go for us. I have never had any problems with them. In fact, I have the flight insurance with them as well. When ever you purchase an airline ticket, they charge you $10. Well when my $500 digital camera was stolen at my hotel, all I had to do was provide the police report and I received a 100% reimbursement.
