When you travel to a place where you have family/friends
Do you stay with them or at a hotel?
So far I have always stayed at a hotel despite insistent invitations. I just don't feel comfortable staying in someone else's house. I mean maybe my aunt but that's about it

I always stay with them...and vice versa (verse??).
No one in my family (or circle of friend's) would allow me to stay at a hotel if I offered or even insisted  ...and again, I wouldn't "allow it" either.

Depends on who. When my grandfather was alive I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible, so I'd stay there.

I would stay with friends, however my DH prefers to stay at a hotel. So if I am with him, hotel it is......
On the other hand, people stay with us all the time and we love it!

I'll stay with my mother but that's about it. Maybe if it was one night someplace else I would.

when I visit my family in Tennessee....we used to stay in a hotel, because neither of my cousins had houses and I would rather have slept in a hotel than on the floor...but now that they have houses...we stay with them!

It really depends on who it is.
But also, if I'm with DH no matter where are go, we stay at a hotel, he's just more comfortable with that

I just went to NY for Thanksgiving and I stayed with my Sister and BIL......That is the best part of the trip

I don't think we've ever stayed at a hotel when visiting family or friends.  The whole point of us visiting them is to spend time with them. And I think our family and friends would be insulted if we stayed at a hotel. If they couldn't accomodate us, it would be one thing, but if they're inviting us up and they have the room, why wouldn't we stay there???
We used to go up to CT almost every weekend and stay with friends. We had the best time...drinking, grilling, playing card games, entertaining the kids, hanging with the neighbors.

depends on where i go. my fsil has room in her house in mt. my brother in syracuse has room in his house, but my brother in philadelphia has no space.
when my brothers visit my parents one stays in a hotel and the other stays with my sister. there is not much room in anyone's house and there are dangerous things in the houses for my neices so my brothers just not to stay there.

Always stay with family and vise versa. I would never have them stay at a hotel knowing they are visiting us or will be in the area.

well when we go to visit DHs parents upstate we always stay at their house... I think they would actually be insulted if we didnt, plus I wouldnt want to pay for a hotel if we didn't have to!

It depends.... if DH comes with me to NY, then we'll usually stay at a hotel. My parents rented out the upstairs of their house so there's not much room anymore.
With friends, it depends on if they have a spare room or not.

SIL in MA yes we stay.
If and when we ever go to WI to visit other SIL we'll definitely be staying at a hotel.
