When you are in a debate or a hot conversation
Do you ever REALLLY listen to the other side or do you predominatly just try to get people to listen to yours?

depends on how strongly i know and feel about my side of the debate...
but i try to listen...

I try to read about the other side's view & then rip them apart on what they said.( J/K about ripping apart. )

I tend to listen more and consider the other sides. That's the one thing I like about debating - you might learn something new.

I usually listen because nothing bugs me more than when you are trying to have an intelligent debate with someone but they seem to only be waiting for you to finish talking so they can hear themselves talk again. It takes a great deal of effort to really listen sometimes, but if you don't, you are just talking to hear yourself talk.

depends on who i am talking to - if its my sis and she is on a tanget about what i should do in my life, i listen but ignore her advice.
if its my fil's however...i try more to "win" then listen to them
