When maternity leave was up and you had to go back to work..

I dont know if this is stupid or not but I am going to go back to work in about 2 weeks and I am starting to think about it a lot.

Other than knowing I am going to miss her so much, I am having feelings like I am scared she wont know i'm her mommy anymore because I wont be around her all day everyday. Did anyone else feel like this? I hate it.

These feelings are perfectly normal.

God knows I cried every night for those last few weeks. I would cry when I put them to sleep or whenever I fed them, bathed them.

My worst fear was thinking they would forget me.

But you know what? that'll NEVER happen. You are their mother. You formed a bond with this child at conception. What you have with this child will compare to nothing in this world and this child, as little as they may be, knows very well your smell, touch, voice and presence.

Try and hang in there. I will not say that it won't get harder as your big day approaches, but I will say that it does get easier once you are in a routine. And it's even sweeter when you get home and hearing them scream with glee over or when you have those little arms and legs wrapped around you screaming momma's home.

I felt the same way---and it is true what they say --no one can replace mommy

Every mom who is going back to work feels this way and it is so not true. I don't see my kids all day and when i get home they know I am their mommy and there is no one else.

My sister-in-law (who is a SAHM) hated when her son went through the attachment thing with her, but I secretly loved it when my boys grab for me when someone else is holdiing them. It makes me feel better even though I know they know I am their mommy and no one else is.

It does get easier once you get into a groove and the kids do so well with their babysitters.

The first few weeks are really rough But she definately will know you are her mommy- Grace loves her day care providers but when I walk in the door its like the sun just was created- Its ALL MOMMY!

You will get through it- I think the missing her part was the worst. But it got easier. Having a zillion pics around my office helped too.

i "thought" i was SOOOOOOO ready to get back to work. Couldn't wait to have a little piece of ME back.

Yea, ok. The min i dropped off my DS i was hysterical. And was like that for about the first week.

But he transitioned well and is doing great.

Crystal the day before I went back I cried all day long and that day I cried when I dropped him off. It really stink not being able to be with your DC all day long and I still hate it but It does get easier. And she will always know you are her mommy!
