Isn't it obvious?

When feeding DC table/solid foods....

How much do you usual give them?

I'm having a hard time judging how much I should give since I was so used to judging by my homemade puree cubes.

Like how much avocado do you usual give? Pasta? Mini waffles/pancakes? etc....

I swear, if I kept putting chunks in front of her...she'd keep eating and eating and eating! Chat Icon

Re: When feeding DC table/solid foods....

I feel the same way with Troy, generally he would eat til he exploded if I let him!

As for things you mentioned, avocado, I've given him 1/2 cut up in wedges that he feeds himself. French Toast sticks-I've given 3. Pancakes (he just had them for the 1st time last weekend) I gave him 1 in pieces - it was about 4" in diameter.

I watch him while he's eating and if I see him lose interest or start playing and stop eating, I take the food away from him.

It's not easy to judge how much is enough. I've been playing it by ear.

Re: When feeding DC table/solid foods....

In the beginning I started with whatever i am giving her that the portion is no bigger than the palm of my handChat Icon

So if i give her meat/pasta/veggies, those 3 items, the serving doesn't get bigger than my palm. If i give her cut up pasta, same thing.

then if she's still looking for more, I give it. Babies have an uncanny sense to tell you they are full and won't overeat.

Depends - Alex won't opne her mouth when she is done. Usually about half an avocado, half a jar if baby food.....I never really take stock since she just stops when she is done...Chat Icon

Ok good, thanks ladies! That's pretty much how much I've been doing. And like Alex...Bella will lock her lips shut when she's done Chat Icon
