When did your ped ok whole eggs? (also flu shot related re egg allergy)

When did your ped say whole eggs were ok?

I was possibly considering the regular flu shot for DD and since it's made with egg, and she has only had egg yolks (no reaction) I was thinking when can I give her a whole egg to be sure she isn't allergic before the shot?

I think 11-12 months.

At almost 2.5, DS doesn't like them, even with cheese on them

I haven't given DS eggs yet, but he just had his first round of the flu shot. I mentioned the fact that he hadn't had eggs yet to the doctor, but she said it was ok. They start giving the flu shot to babies at 6 months and those babies haven't had eggs either.

Even though he did fine with the flu shot, I'll still probably hold off on egg whites for a while.

I've been giving DD scrambled eggs since she was 8 months old with no problems. Haven't had the flu shot yet. She goes for her 12 month visit in 2 weeks.

DS just got the flu shot. No reaction. He is 6 months.

i gave i believe it was a gerber graduates ravoli dinner too dd at around 10/11months old and then realized it had eggs so i called the ped office frantically and he said it was absolutely ok to give so i continued from then on

I feel a little stupid asking but what does the flu shot & eggs have to do with eachother? My ped never told me not to give DD eggs so I started at 7 months. She also had the flu shot

You cannot get the flu shot if you have a known egg allergy (due to egg proteins in the shot).

She said foods made with whole eggs (pancakes, waffles etc) were OK at 10 months, eggs themselves (omlets etc) one year.

ds was ok'd at 8 months... mainly it was because the meals he was having for breakfast from 6 months had egg yolk in them (beech nut breakfast jars)... he was also already eating things with whole eg in it like pancakes and pizza crusts... so when i asked she basically said that it was safe to move him to whole eggs


as for allergies, i personally am allergic to eggs and have issues with the flu shot as well as the tetanus shot... they do have a nasal flu shot atleats for adults

i'm pretty sure yolks were at 5 months and whole eggs at 6 months. give or take a month on both

ohhhh i did not know that!
