When did you move to the next size nipple? (obviously a FF question)
Today as I was feeing Lily, I noticed it was taking her a really long time to finish her bottle...like 1 1/2 hours to get 3 ounces down and she kept falling asleep.
So I made the hole in the nipple a little bigger, just to see,....and at the next feeding, she drank 6 ounces in 35 minutes.
I'm guessing it was the bigger hole in the nipple - but she's only 7 weeks - is that too young to move to the next size, or is it all dependant on the baby? (I'm guessing I answered my own question)

I think it's dependent on the baby. I would give it a go and see what happens. If she spits up a lot then I would stop.

Absolutely not - the same thing happened to Cailen when he was about 4 wks old - not only was it taking forever in the middle of the night, he was getting frustrated, and hungry all the time because he couldnt get it down fast enough - moving to 2 nipples was a blessing!!!

I think I did it at 3 months but I would give it a shot. Even though I knew she was ready cause the same thing was happening, she still choked a bit in the beginning until she go used to it.

We actually only just did it for DD.
the Stage two Dr. Brown nipple is still way too fast for DS because he is a gulper.
They now are neck and neck when the feed...lol.
I wish they made each stage in a different color so it would be easy to know which is which in an instant.

I tried it early but it was too much for her. I ended up changing at 4 months and 7 months. Every baby is different so give it a try.
eta: it does make a big difference once you do change.

we switched at 3 or 4 mths but I definately think it depends on the baby - if they are taking a very long time to finish the bottle and seem to be getting annoyed drinking, its time to go up a size.....HTH

I went out and bought some size 2 nipples tonight....just tried them out and she finished the bottle very quickly and seemed much happier.
My little girl is a piggy!!
