When buying a house, do the sellers give paperwork on home improvements and repairs?
I am in contract to buy a house. I want the sellers to leave all the paperwork on home improvements and repairs that was done on the house so, if there is a problem, I can call whoever did the work.
Is it ok to ask the sellers to give me all the paperwork on home repairs and improvements?

sure - if they kept them all
mine kept all her appliance instructions and stuff, and we asked her who she had maintain certain stuff, etc

we bought our house from the most anal old lady ever, she had things literally from 1975 for us...INSANITY...DH was about to kiss her...

We received all of the owners manuals for the appliances. I would not expect to receive repair or maintenance bills though.

we always leave everything! We actually have a folder put together to show anybody that has any questions while we have it on the market as well. We don't leave it out while showing the house, but if someone asks we have it.
The previous owner on our current house left us quite a bit as well - including paint colors.

It never hurts to ask... if they are well organized and considerate they may offer up a folder of manuals and maintenance details... if not, your basically SOL....

Our sellers left us everything. Even plans they had drawn up for an addition.

we received appliance stuff and warranties for the windows/siding which came in very handy.
i left anything i had for my co-op for the new owners as well (from re-doing the bathroom).
