When are mortgage payments due?
Do you know what day of the month they are typically due? Also, if we close end of this month (next week), then is it true our first actual mortgage payment won't start until October? Thanks!

I think they're due the 1st of the month, but I would check with your bank. And yes, if you close after the 15th of the month, your first payment won't be due until October.

DH (who works for Wamu) says they are always due on the 1st or the 15th. We closed the end of March, our first payment was due May 1.

We closed 11/10, our first payment wasn't due until 1/1. But we didn't move in until 11/21.

Thanks gals. We won't be moving in right away either, as there are a few things that need to be done, carpeting, paint, etc. so it will feel good to know we are not paying while not living there!

techincally when you close, i believe you make your first payment so you won't phyically pay for 2 months...
you can always change your due date to line up when you have money

Most banks your payment is due the 1st of the month but you have until the 15th for them to receive the payment. If you closed next week your first payment would be Oct if you close the beginning of Sept it would probably be Nov. This is because you are paying short term interest at closing.
