whats an inexpensive dish i can make
my dh and i both turn 30 soon, so we're having a birthday party 
its turning out to be more people than i expected, so what other hot food do you think i can make in addition to baked ziti & sausage n peppers?
something easy to make and inexpensive?
i'll have appetizers and stuff too

I was going to suggest pasta since that's probably the cheapest way to go but based on the menu, I'd say you need a chicken dish.

How about making a hero? It's cheaper to buy the hero bread from a bakery (you could buy a round 3 ft.) & the coldcuts on your own. Just assemble & serve.
