What would you wear to a baby shower for your sibling

IN a VERY small town in Northwestern PA. close to Erie.

My New Yorker attitude already stands out enough they seem to be a lot more casual there than I am...so I am kinda at a loss.

I went for a stag n drag last year (if you don't know, don't ask ) and I ended up changing my clothes...but I am not a big tshirt and cutoffs with flip flops girl either.

Help me not look like the snob most think I am.

do you know what your sister is wearing? i think i'd base it off that... wouldn't want to be more decked out than the guest of honor.

i'd probably go with a casual springy dress with casual sandals or black pants and a cute, casual top.

the shower is for my brother's inbound offspring (another niece for me ). His wife is from this town and they live there now.

At their wedding, there were people dressed in Jeans, khakis etc...

and I am not judging them...I am just saying that I at times feel out of place.

I would feel comfortable wearing what you feel like wearing. By the sound of it, no matter what you wear, you're going to be overdressed or just look like you're not from there! lol

I would still do a skirt, cute top and flats. Not a super dressy outfit, but a springy-one.

I wouldn't change how I wanted to dress to "fit in".

Growing up, my Mom always put me in a FANCY dress on holidays. We went to my cousins' house and they were all in jeans and sweatpants.

I don't think it makes you look snobby! I think it makes you look like you care about how you present yourself!

I think you should wear what you'd be most comfortable wearing. Don't worry if people say anything because seriously if theyre going to "talk" they'll talk regardless.

How about a denim skirt and cute t shirt with those gladiator sandals that are popular now.
ETA: I know how you feel because my DH is from Binghamton and the events are very different there. I always worry about what to wear

i'd base it on her and go off that, if she doesn't know about it maybe base it off the next most important family member going.

Otherwise, I'd wear a skirt and nice top.

what about something like this....

simple scoop neck tee with white pants, chunky necklace, & flats



or simple skirt, top & cardigan

I had a much similar dilemma when I went to a bridal shower in TX- having never been there before I didnt want to stand out like a sore thumb

BUT I realized that I will wear my NY style fabulous outfit and just be fierce!
Its not like I was in a gown or anything but it felt good to be one of the best looking guests

listen, I've been to that part of PA before...I totally know what you're talking about. you really will prob be dressed up no matter what, but just be yourself! if i were you I would wear a little sundress...nothing crazy dressy, but still a little better than capris. there's no excuse for jeans at a wedding, i don't care where it's at!

I went to bridal shower in central PA wearing a black dress - the bride was in khakis. But you know how it is.

I'd go casual. Or what do they call it now 'smart casual'

I would wear a casual dress with casual, falt sandals. Its casual, but you still look nice.
