What to do about school halloween party?

So Sarah's been in a bad mood lately. For the past 2 weeks she's just miserable and crying and whining all the time. Nothing makes her happy except sitting in my lap.

So I asked her if she's excited about the costume party at school tomorrow and she told me she is not wearing a costume. I don't care if she doesn't get dressed up for Halloween, but I know she will be sad if she's the only kid not in costume when she gets there.

Took her shopping today for a costume, she picked out a boy's puppy costume, but whatever, that's what she wanted. Then we get home and it's back to "I'm not wearing a costume!"

So do I stuff her into a costume right before we leave, have her cry the whole way there and be mad at me, or just let her go in regular clothes?

And if I stuff her into a costume, is it the cute pink poodle from Old Navy, or the yuck brown boy one from Target?

I say take her to the party in regular clothes and bring the costumes with you in the car for when she changes her minid

I'm not allowed to stay, it's just for students. That's what makes it hard.

I'd put the costumes in a bag and let the teacher know they are there.

Last year my son refused to wear his costume to preschool for the party. I brought it with me and handed it to the teacher. They had it on him in 5 minutes and he wore it the whole time! Chat Icon

I'd just go with whatever she wants to do, and bring the costume for the teacher. Trust me, not worth the battle!! Chat Icon

Yep, stuff it in her bag if she won't wear it to school and let the teacher know when you drop her off that its in her bag. And I would pack the one she picked out today!

Thanks everyone! I'll let her teacher deal with it.

I'm just so tired of hearing "NO! I can't! I won't!" all the time. What happened to my sweet girl?
