What should I be doing with my 2 month old
I have no clue what I am supposed to be doing all day long with AJ (2 months old). He doesnt like TV at all. He will stay on his playmat for maybe 30 mins.
We do tummy time but after a few mins he cries. I read to him a few times a day. I walk around the house with him and show him different things.
He is so content in his swing all day long. He would seriously just stay in his swing from morning to night all happy and content. His swing is in a room with lots of natural sunlight and he does like to look out the windows. I feel like I should be doing things with him but dont know what.

I felt the same way Deb, I still do and hes 4months! There isnt much you can do at this point and what your doing so far is great/what you should be doing. But you can't help feeling like hes bored right?! I was the same way.

LOL, I thought I was the only one who thought that my baby is bored, she is 4 months , I feel like I have to do more with her, can't take her out much cause it's so cold , so I just play w her, read and sing to her, walk her aroundd the house and so on , I don't let her watch TV though, read so many bad things about it. anyway, you are doing fine.

The best thing you can do is talk or read to DC to help develop their langauge skills down the road. I am lucky my DD loves her mat, so we spend about an hour on it in the morning.

I agree. Talking (describe everything that you do, see) and reading to them is important to language development.

you're not alone, i totally feel like DS is bored! but we do all of the things you do - play mat, tummy time, swing, etc. i also read and speak to him constantly.

Same here. I am also teaching her how to cook. OK not really but I sit her in the dining room or kitchen whenever I prepare any food and tell her step by step what I'm doing and she loves it. I also narrate folding laundry, cleaning and anything else I do.
I do little song/dance shows with stuffed animals and puppets too but that doesn't really hold her interest she would rather look at me.

We are doing all the things you are with DS, and he is easily bored also. It is their age I think, and it's great he stays on his playmat for 30 minutes! Mine only lasts about 10 minutes tops on that or his bouncy seat.
We read to him, play music, dance with him (he loves that), and walk around the house telling him what is what. Oh, and I sing to him also. I also make faces at him, and he seems to like that, or I'll show him a mirror and he looks at himself. I don't think it's bad that your child won't watch TV, it's actually not the best thing for them. Much better that he looks outside and sees the world beyond the house a bit!
Their attention span at this age is very low, so the activities you can do are limited.

Deb, the things you are doing are fine. Reading & talking and holding/bonding w/ him are the best things. At 2 months its hard...give it a few more months & he'll be so much more interactive.

same thing with mr DS is 4 months and i just dont know what to do with him any nore. we just went and got some DVDS baby genius. He is such a flert he loves the girls.

my dd is 3.5 months and have no clue either. We play on the floor, we eat, nap, swing, bouncy seat, listen to music, walks... i cant wait until the warm weather is here and can just sit outside on a blanket.
