what sewing machine should i get?
I really don't know how to sew...hahaha! BUT, I figure I can maybe take a basic class or something once I get a machine. I want to be able to make new pillows for the couch, curtains, etc. I'm figuring it will be a good hobby to take up too. So what type of machine do you recommend for a beginner?

I wish I knew how to sew. If you ever find out where they have classes I would be interested.
As far as machines, I have seen some at target and they didn't look that expensive. But then again, I don't really know what features that one needs.

You can get one that basically does all of the work for you - Not sure which one my Mom has - But I don't know 'how to sew' and I've usedhers to make pillows, curtains, etc -

I know that most school districts offer adult ed classes and that's where I plan on looking first. Maybe Michael's AC Moore too!
ps...thanks for your help ladies! I was encouraged to see that you can apparently get a decent machine for under $100  I'm adding one to my Christmas list!

i'm in the same boat you are...
my mother sews, but doesn't know what to get for me. she's in the research phase, i'll post info once we figure it out!
