What kind of activities does you DH do with your DC?

I always tell DH he has to do stuff with him besides watch TV lol.

Sounds like the same conversation I have w/ my DH. Except, he sits DS on his lap while he is on the computer. DS does not seem to mind, he enjoys looking at the screen but I can see why my husband asks "why does he like you more then me?" It is because I act silly, I make him laugh, I sing and read to him. Not sure if DH knows what to do with him

DH takes him for walks, plays with him, makes him laugh, etc.

Plays w/him on the floor, feeds and changes him, dances w/him, talks to him about whatever he is doing, pretends he's a member of the Wiggles (Shhh don't tell him I told you!)

My husband does lots of things with Michael - plays ball, wrestles, reads, goes for walks, takes him to the park, lets Michael help him fix things and lets Michael help him with his garden (yes DH has a garden, lol), they do playdoh together, play cars, play with animals, and of course watch TV - my husband is a pretty good father, but of course has his quirks that a lot of other Dad's have!

I did hear DH singing the Wonder Pets song to our Son. I thought that was cute! Song does get stuck in your head!

DS is almost 4. We play outside in the warmer weather (and not-so-warm weather, too). He rides his trikes and cars around the yard, and I either follow him, push him, or ride my bike with him. He likes to climb in the bed of the pickup in the driveway. He has a lot of outside toys we play in/on (Slides, basketball nets, playhouse, etc). Inside, we of course watch TV, but we also play with cars, I'll pick him up and dance with him during Dancing with the Stars, play on the computer (he surfs on his own PC, while I sit next to him and surf on my PC), wrestle, have pillow fights, build pillow houses. We'll crawl around the house like his favorite animal (it varies depending on the day), run around the house, read to him, draw, play with play-dough. I helped a lot trying to potty-train him, and now help him in the bathroom. Take him to karate every weekend. I am almost always the one to give him his chewable vitamin at night, brush his teeth, and tuck him into bed each night. I'm sure I've skipped over some things, but you get the idea....

DD is almost 1, so I don't do anywhere near as much with her, but I still love to hold her, feed her once in a while, help her stand and walk (and catch her when she falls down... ) DW is definitely the one who does the most with DD.

When DD was born Dh worked nites so he was the one who was taking care of her while I was at work up till she was a year old then we put her in day care so he did evverything with her and she was a total daddy's girl but now that that is 2 1/2 and she is in day care and dh works all different hours she is with me alot more then him she is atotal momma girlshe loves her daddy and when he comes home he plays with her and will take her to the stores with him when he goes shopping but she is a total momma girl she won't let him put herto bed or give her a bath she wants mommy for everything

their 2 favorite activities are watching tv and going to starbucks! he does play with him more now that he's older and more interactive. i think a lot of men just don't know what to do with a baby.

Let me see...........his favourite thing to do with our 14 mth old is to let her do EVERYTHING that I wont allow her to do.

He does take her outside for walks, plays ball with her, gives her baths and blows bubbles under the water - great idea seen as she now imitates him and nearly drowns herself

I do have to say that I am much better for thinking up things to do with her but maybe thats because I am with her 24/7 and I want to teach her things that she wont necessarily learn fiom watching CSI miami - DH likes her to watch that with him too!

He'll sit and play with her for 2 minutes after I've thrown a hissy fit at him and then revert back to his old self.

He will play blocks with him and he does "airplane" with him too...I'm *trying* to make him understand that reading would be nice too...still working on that one!

Wow! I guess my DH is not unique in holding DD on his lap when he plays on the computer or watches TV. I think DD knows how to play Civilization already

Wow we are all married to the same guy! I came home from work one day when DH took off and I saw his Xbox was plugged in, so he did that...and then he told me they spent most of the day watching Miami Vice Season 1

DH is awesome with Miranda and I worried because I know he really wanted a boy but honestly it has never made a difference.
He plays with her and her toys, gets down on the floor with her, goes outside with her, you name it he does.
He's a great dad. I often feel like he's better at it than I am.

DH gets on the floor and plays with blocks and all her toys...does airplane..rolls around and crawls on the floor with her...helps her stand...goes for walks...

Actually he does everything but read to her

I am not going to tell DH about this post I FLIPPED one morning when he was telling the baby to be good and they will watch a show about Alaska together...that was the last time he has sat in front of the TV with the baby.

He sings to him a lot, they roll on the floor together, occasionally they read, constantly tickling him. On his nights off, he straps on the carrier and takes the baby for walks.

my dh is great - when he is home, he does everything I would...plus at night, its his time, he does the nighttime routine and loves it.....its so cute to listen to him on the monitor w/ her...i sit there and just smile as I listen and then watch him lay her down after he feeds her a bottle....
