Re: What is your typical oil heating and electric bill

We are on a budget for both. For oil we pay $175 mo. (we started out with $250 a mo.) and electric we pay $199 a mo. Definietely find out what the previous owner pays a month in electric b/c that is what LIPA bases your payment on. We have been living in the house for 6 mo. and I am constantly calling to lower my monthly payment and they wont let me b/c they are basing it on what the previous owners used.

Re: What is your typical oil heating and electric bill

From last year if averaged out we pay about $200 or so a month for oil. We are not on a budget so whenever we get a delivery, we just pay it. That's about 4 months out of the year. About $140/mo for electric.

We recently re-insulated and I'm hoping for lower oil bills. Also with this warm weather and the lower price of oil, it will help.

We pay

Gas: $31 a mo (hot water and cooking)
Electric: $143 a mo
Oil: Usually about $400 a month during the winter (about 4-5 fill ups)
