What is your second grade boy reading?
My son likes diary of a wimpy kid and has read more than half of the magic tree house series. What else would you recommend?

It's difficult for me to remember what DS was reading on 2nd, but he liked those you said, and he still has 'My weird school' series and 'Big Nate'.

I teach second and scholastic has these non fiction books called "who would win?" and the kids love them-they are about animals

I've got a 2nd grade girl, but she's loving the Bad Kitty series right now and Ready Freddy Welcome to Second Grade and Second Grade Rules.

This is my son to a T! He loves non-fiction, and primarily he chooses one of those "Who Would Win" books or other animal, weather, nature books.

My second grade boy is into non-fiction pretty heavily - especially anything sports related. The sports almanacs etc. He also likes books about all the different states, countires etc. Fiction he likes Dan Gutman and Matt Christopher - they are all sports based.

My son has read similar. Magic tree house is starting to move out and he is mostly finishing Diary of the Wimpy Kid and My Weird School books. He also finished the Bad Kitty series. He reads a lot of non-fiction - mostly animal and soccer books. Also reads anything about pokemon or mindcraft.
