This might not be what you're looking for, but the last two times we went to AC, we stayed at a really nice bed & breakfast, the Carisbrooke Inn, in Ventnor City, about 10 min. away. It's more affordable than staying at the casinos, and it makes the trip a little more romantic.

I got a free room rate this last trip at Harrahs, it was winter so I didnt mind being in the Marina, and it is really nice. Typically, I tend to stay at the Tropicana as they usually give me the best package. I have the mentality that if I'm going to be gambling in your hotel, I dont like to pay for my room.

Love the Tropicana!!!!! I ove the shopping center and all the restaurants and the fact that you can walk right onto the boardwalk. And that you can see the water from your room!!

My parents just came back from the Borgata and would never stay there again. They didn't like that it wasn't on the boardwalk and so far from everything.

If you are only going for a night or two, I would say the Borgata. It's beautiful and everything you need (except the beach) is right there. If you want to stay closer to the action i would say Tropicana. Has tons of restaurnts and nightlife right there and walking distance to the beach.

I liked the Tropicana after we complained about itsy bitsy room. Borgata was nice but is too expensive. also stayed at ceasers which was really nice. also stayed at another hotel on the boardwalk that was gross and was afraid to leave the room- but i can't remember the name of that one.

eta: boardwalk not the strip (i miss vegas)

Yea, DH was at training for 2 weeks and that's where we stayed...in a pretty big suite. It was SO nice and I definitely liked the shops!

This is the one reason we don't want to stay here...it's too far away.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I guess I'll look back into the Trop. Just trying to figure out if there was anything better out there.

DH and I like Bally's, Harrah's and Ceasar's. We are actually going to Ceasar's tonight... we got a room for $59
