What happened to my son's ear (pic included). HELP
He woke up this morning looking like Dumbo  I have no idea what happened, he didn't go to bed like that! It's so red and swollen. Did he get bitten by a bug in his sleep? *Gasp* a spider?
I guess my question is what do I do? I gave him a baggie of ice to keep on it. Should I give him a children's Benadryl? I would hate having to call my pedi over it and have them tell me to ice it and give him Benadryl for a $40 copay, KWIM? He said it does't hurt, but that it "tickles" (aka itches  ) a little.

I have no idea, but I'm sure it's no big deal. I would, however, call the Dr's answering service and tell them about it and see what they say. They may want him to take Tylenol or they may want you tp put something on it- like calamine.

DH said it looks like he got bit by something. I agree with Nicole, just call the answer service and hopefully they will get back to you soon.
Does it hurt or itch him?

Thanks, maybe I'll just take him in to be looked at, our pedi has Saturday hours until 2 p.m. I'll see what happens in a bit.

aww I agree looks like a bug bite reaction of some kind.
DS woke up with his ear red but not quite that swollen once and it was determined he slept on it wrong, like it was folded over for a long time.
hope the swelling goes down!

Looks like a bite, or if he slept on that side all night, maybe its from that too.
