What do you do when you feel like your life is at a standstill...
I will be 26 very soon. A ton of my friends have fancy jobs..are getting married..and just living grown up lives..and i feel like recently my life is at a standstill..
while i have a good job and a great relationship i feel in so many ways of life i m ready for more..and all i can do is wait for it to happen..
waiting for a promotion..
waiting for more money to re-do my apartment or move..
waiting to pay off my debt..
waiting for my relationship to one day take its course to kids...marriage...
waiting...waiting...waiting..
sigh...

I felt the same way at 26.....just hang in there and everything will happen at once. By 27 I had a new job, was engaged, and moving on. I also watched all my friends move on ahead of me, so I know it can be frustrating.

Count your blessings. At 26, some people are not at a standstill but they are dealing with issues that you certainly would not want. Also, at 26, I had a lot of friends who totally embellished on their job descriptions.

i know how you feel, i am always waiting for the next step. i often wonder if that's how life will be for me forever. i hate that i can't just enjoy NOW.

I felt that way at 25. 25 was an EXTREMELY hard time for me. I was living on my own and working. My then boyfriend was not good for me. I felt like I had no friends and I had not started law school yet. Fast forward 5 years and I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life. I went to law school, passed two bar exams, met my now DH, got married, purchased a house, got a new job and now am a mommy.
People put so much pressure on you in your 20s to have everything figured out. It is hard to do everything, and feel like you are going no where slowly. If I could look back and tell myself to just take time for me and enjoy where I was at that moment I would. I would have taken some more vacations and picked up a few hobbies. Good things will come for you.

You can look at it as having A LOT to look forward to.
I felt this way a few years ago before DH and I were engaged... we had a long distance relationship and something needed to change. A few months after we talked about it he proposed and moved down to LI.
Do you have any vacations booked? I love having a vaca to look forward to!
