What did your twins weigh at birth?

These growth sonos are driving me crazy. I'm 33.5 weeks and my twins are measuring 5lbs 10 oz and 5 lbs and 4 oz. At this rate they'll be 8 pounders. I'm just wondering, in your experience, how accurate are these sonos?

For the most part there pretty accurate they told me my twins would be 4.15 oz for one and he was 4.3 oz and the other they were off they told me 5.8 oz and he was 4.15 oz. There as accurate as can be... Good Luck.

Re: What did your twins weigh at birth?

It depends on the sono tech. At my last measurement at 37 wks, they couldn't get a good measurement for twin A so he was est to be a little smaller than he actually was. Mine came out 4lbs 14oz and 5lbs 9oz.
If yours are already measuring over 5 lbs, they probably will be 7-8 lbs at birth if you go to term.
You'll be fine! Good Luck!

Born at 38 weeks. Is it horrible that I am not exactly sure if those are the right oz's? I know they were both somewhere in the high 5lb area... Chat Icon

Re: What did your twins weigh at birth?

I had a growth sonogram the day before my girls were born...

The growth sono said 4lbs 14oz & 5lbs 6oz...

They were born at exactly 35 weeks (the next day) at 4lbs 14oz and 5lbs...

Baby A, the 5lb twin, had a wider rib cage than her sister, but less fat overall....which I think is why they measured her to be a bit heavier. She continues to have a broader frame than her sister. Yet she is a touch shorter and lighter.

Re: What did your twins weigh at birth?

they can be 20% off in either direction. my twins were born at 5.7 and 5.8.
according to the sonos which i had ALL the time they were supposed to be larger.

I'm doing very well according to the doctors. But I'm out of work and I am very uncomfortable. The back pain is awful, but I'm sure you all can relate. I wanted to go vginal, but I just scheduled a c-section because I want to get my tubes tied too. So it will be April 28th, I'll be 38weeks and a few days. It seems so far from now.
