What color combo do you have siding/roof?

And if you did it (not the old owners) why did you pick those colors? What about shutters?

We are getting our roof and siding done and I have to pick everything out . I'm clueless. I was thinking I like a green siding with a black roof but DH is leaning towards a neutral. Then I was thinking beige with black room and black shutters. White trim. Is that overdone? We also have some red brickwork that will probably stay (I'd love to redo it was the stacked stone look but I'm sure that's pretty expensive)

If you have pics, that would be great too.

We have a blue roof (Harbor Blue) and we have clay siding from manufac. Georgia Pacific. It's like a khaki color. The trim is white and the shutters are blue. So it's Khaki/white and blue.

we did the house over htis year - siding is wicker, roof is weathered wood, no shutters

Our siding is CLAY from Lowe's (Georgia Pacific).
Our shutters are black from Lowe's.
Our roof is Estate Gray from Lowe's.

I should own stock! :)

Our roof is black. Our siding is a medium gray - I forget the acutal name. Our doors are a slate blue. No shutters. 3 sides of our house are visible from the street and I felt like it would look unfinished if only the front had shutters. We have so many windows I would have gone broke getting shutters for all of them.

ETA: It used to be black roof, white siding.

We have cream colored siding (Crane siding in Pearl), light sage green shutters and a dark gray roof with a touch of green and brown in it (Tamko shingles in Oxford Grey).

I drove around and looked at a lot of color combinations before I settled on these colors. I think that is the best way to figure out what you like!

If we were to redo our house I'd want a really light beige siding, black shutters and a red door

We have vinyl siding in a tan color/beige, and green (hunter green) shutters.

Siding: Maibec Nantucket Cedar Shingles in Cottage Gray
Roof: Timberline 30 shingles in Slate

No shutters, just white trim and I still need to put all the grills in the windows & doors.


(here's a pic to give you an idea...we're still under construction.)

To be honest, I thought the color "Cottage Gray" would be more gray than brown when I picked it out, not that I mind because this color will go better with our back patio.

As for the roof color...I hate it! (Too blue for my taste.) We'll be changing the roof when we do our 2nd story addition. We picked the slate color out the first week we moved in and I never gave any thought to the fact that we would be changing the siding down the road. I thought the slate would be a good neutral, not realizing how blue it would be (I wish I had gone with Weathered Wood.)

we have a black roof, yellow-ish shutters and PAINTED tan cedar shingles.

we are doing new siding next year - right now we like the tan siding with black shutters combo.

A photo of our house is attached. The house color is actually a little creamier, with a touch of yellow in it, but definitely not yellow. We like the color combo--it works for us.

We have Crane siding - can't remember the exact name but it has beige in the name. The roofing is Tamko - Natural Timber.

Here's our house and a link to the roofing from the website - you can't see it in our house photo, but there are actually about three or four colors in the roofing. We're very happy with the color combination.
