What baby carrier do you recommend? Do I even NEED one????

I'm due mid-August, so I wonder if I need to get one......I have a Baby Bjorn....does anyone recommend it or any other one more???

I have a sling as well, but now they aren't advised....are the wraps bad too????

If you use the sling properly it is totally fine. Just make sure the baby does not have his/her chest to the chin. You can take the baby and have him/her sit chest to chest with you and that will avoid the problem. Also, once has some neck strength it is not an issue.

Honestly, with any baby gear, if you don't use it properly (even the bjorn) you can seriously injure your child. I have read the data, and I don't see as slings are not advised, more as a caution.

I use my sling a ton--it allows me to hold the baby but still have a hand free to chase my older one---especially outside! I have a ring sling and just got another one in linen for the summer. It depends on the sling--the ones mainly advised against were the bag sling types. I got mine from sleeping baby productions

I love the ergo carrier but the baby can only face towards you, and I don't like how that can be limiting. We went w/ the bjorn so we can have the option to decide how to position her.

I had a Bjorn and I love it. I am going to use it with this baby too.

I have a Bjorn from the first time around, and I plan on getting the Moby Wrap this time. I also have a hotsling but I don't think I'd put him in there while he was a newborn...
