What are you getting you 2-3 year old for christmas?
Is a kitchen set ok for a boy???? Since our playroom is done now I have MORE ROOM looking for ideas. thanks!

I def think a kitchen set is appropriate for a boy.
We're kind of stumped on what to get Charlie this year...no real "big" gift to speak of. So far I got her the figure 8 Thomas the Train wooden train set and some trains...the new Tinkerbell movie...and some little things. Santa is giving her a doll 
Last year her "big" gift was one of those foam chairs from Land of Nod.

I would totally get DS a kitchen, but we are getting one from a friend as a hand-me-down.

Her big gift ($125)
Her smaller gift is a bike I got from GoodWill, we just dropped it off with training wheels at the bike shop for a clean up and they'll but the Training Wheels for her. ($35 - including clean up) I paid like $7 for the bike
Gift to open will be something small we'll find at target or something. Just so she can open something on Xmas day.
But really this kid made OUT last year and this year we're going on vacation so she'll have to make do.

My mom picked up a kitchen at a garage sale- my nephew love to play with it whenever he's there! He's almost 3.
I got my DD a dollhouse and a really nice art easel. She loves to color and paint. She's pretty much done- some art supplies and some doll-type things, but that's it.

its about 4ft wide diameter (sp) in track circle. Its inside our guest room right now. Yes, I have shown it to her (its too large to hide) and I'm glad. She was terrified of it for a good two weeks. Now she wants to say good morning, hello and good night to "the choo-choo" everyday.
I REFUSE to refer to it as Thomas. It was a fluke I got the Thomas version instead of the non-thomas I originally wanted. I don't want AJ to get into Thomas brand name 
Anyway.. I got it off Craigslist. I originally got one from Ebay but she renigged on her deal so I had to find another. This one was local and it does have a crack on one part of his face but otherwise its in great condition!

DS has a small tabletop size kitchen from Target/Circo $15 - he likes it and its small enough.
This year he is getting Stinky - the matchbox/mattel talking garbage truck and some Chuggington Train stuff.
Last year he got a work bench as a "boy" alternative to a large kitchen.
