Anything outdoors like going to the park, running through the sprinkler, playing in the kiddie pool. Or going to a play center or having a play date. Other than that, NOTHING tires her out!

Don't laugh - I play "Touch the ...." - I make them run around the living room, touching the TV, the door, the floor, the couch, etc. And they run around like crazy - back and forth.
Going to the playground in the heat always tires them out, and hide and seek around the house always tires them out too.

Park and pool! Beach too but I'm not that much of a beach person so we mainly go to the pool. Park definitely the best one though, all that climbing and running around does it everytime. If I take my 2 year old in the AM, he takes a 3-3 1/2 hour nap after lunch. Without it, he takes a 1 1/2-2 hour nap.

Re: what are some good activities that TIRE your toddler out?
Oh, I forgot, her favorite game to play inside is store. I toss all her toys around and pretend that she's the store clerk, I put on a hoyty toyty voice and make her go shopping for me. So she has to run around the house looking for things for me and bring them back for me to buy. I always make things hard to find and ask her to get me those things. It'll usually go like this:
Me: Excuuuuuse meeee, miss. I need a blue shoe, but just one, not two. Right away! Ava: Why yes, ma'am. Be right back!
Then she runs around looking for the one damn blue shoe i hid under a pillow or something We do it all the time, even when we're getting ready for bed. I'll say, "Um, excuse me miss, those clothes are horrid. Kindly undress and put on some beautiful pajamas. I believe they're in the bedroom." And she'll go running and have to find her pajamas

What a cute idea! I might have to steal this little game from you!

Re: what are some good activities that TIRE your toddler out?
Seriously, we play it for a good two hours out of the day. I use it to teach her letters and numbers, as well. I'll sometimes use her flashcards and she has to go "shopping" for the letter A or something. Whenever you see me on LIF during the day, you know we're playing store and she's off looking for something I hid

Taking them to the pool for the afternoon! Being in the hot sun and spalshing all around makes them both sleep very nicely, for naps and at night

Go to the beach and have her walk down to the ocean. They are knocked out by the time we get home.

you sound like a fun mom
I remember my mom playing store with me with my REAL cash register...I used to grab canned and boxed goods from the pantry and she would ring meup and vice versa...I thought I was the $hit when she gave me real change for the register
