Went to Dr unexpectedly today, told me to go home and rest. No work the rest of the week. A little TMI

Woke up this morning, went to the bathroom, and wiped to find pink and a small clot. I didn't freak out, just woke up DH got dressed and headed to the Dr.

The Dr wasn't in until 1, but the nurse pract. saw me, used doppler to hear heartbeat and did a little internal feeling around. She said from what she could see things looked okay, but wanted me to come back and see the Dr.

I went back, had an internal sono and he said Short answer, things look good. We saw the top of the baby's head! The cervix is long, which is good, he said anything over 3cm is good, I am about 4.2cm. He did say the placenta looks a little low, which is what may be causing the bleeding.

I was ordered to stay home and rest and no work the rest of the week. He said the blood will become brownish and come out over the next few days. And to come back if it stays red and persists past a few days.

I have to say, I was very calm! I have a little bit of cramping, but will follow orders and rest. Dr did say as the baby & uterus grow, the placenta will move up. Just it's a little low, but NOT covering the cervix, which is good!

So...here I am!

The same thing happened to a good friend last year and everything turned out great!

What a scare but glad to hear that everything is okay - and you got to have a little peek at your little one. Rest, relax and take care.

I had/have the same problem. At 21 weeks I woke up and had a little bleeding. Went to the dr. and he said it was due to my low lying placenta and to try and take it easy. He said 95% of the time it will move up but if it doesn't i will have to have a c-section. I will go for a sono every 2 weeks starting at 30 weeks.

Get some rest.

DH works nights, but my brother (who is living with us) will be here at night! DH brought me lunch, so he's doing a good job!!

Glad things are all ok. You handled it like a champ but I am sure it was nerve wracking! ! Rest up and stay off your feet the rest of the week. Enjoy being waited on, take advantage while you can!!!
