Weirdest thing just happened to me...
I was driving down Hempstead Tpke with my little guy in his carseat, to go to the school where my older son takes Religious Ed.
I was stopped at a light and a white van rolled up to my passenger side.
The driver motioned for me to roll down my window. I put it down a bit, thinking he needed directions.
This was the conversation we had:
Man (also with another guy in passenger seat. Could have been more people but the van didn't have side windows): "Hi ma'am. This is going to sound weird. Can I ask you a question?"
Me: "Um...what?"
Man: "Would you like Surround Sound for your home?
Me: "No thanks"
Man: "See...I knew you'd think this is weird. I have 'extras' that I'd like to unload."
Me: No thanks"
Man: "Follow me...I'll show you. Are you headed home? We can follow you and check out your house to see if these speakers would work for you."
Me:
And I FLEW when the light turned green!

First thing that went through my mind was that missing teacher (sorry, this isn't yet another thread about it). But really...in this day and age...does he think a woman would say..."yeah sure...follow me home." ?
I tell ya...it freaked me out a bit.

These people are around. They drive around parking lots trying to sell speakers to people. I would never buy it.

I would have freaked and probably went through the red light. I never roll my window down no matter how much people honk and yell at me. They can go to the gas station and get directions.

there are guys that sell these ALL OVER
they are in mall parking lots
they tell you the surround sound is worth $1000 but they have SOOO many they will sell it for $300
