Weekend Getaway: Hershey, Dutchwonderland or Sesame?

DS will be 2.5 next month. He is NOT a dare devil, tends to be more cautious and definitely needs time to warm up to new things.

With that said, we want to book a day trip this summer (one over night) to either Hershey Park, Sesame Place or Dutch Wonderland.

Which would you recommend for a 2.5 year old?

Would you recommend doing the overnight the night BEFORE, so we wake up close to park and make day of it, or would you use the hotel stay the AFTER the day at the parks? The day at the park will probably be a Friday.

TIA!

I myself have never been to Hershey so I cant comment on that other than that we are saving it for when DC's are a little older ( when they will no longer be interested in Sesame and DW)

We brought DS to Sesame around your DS's age and he loved it...However, he is a total waterbug...Does your DS like water? Sesame is quite a bit of water attractions...There are dry rides but I think the water attractions kind of outweigh the dry stuff....Also, they have the characters ( is he okay with them?)..We are planning a late June overnight stay there...

We are going to DW in August (never been before) ,,,It seems like that "might" be your best bet if hes not a water type kid because they seem to have a really nice mix of attractions and shows etc...

As far as which day to stay over, we are having the same dilemma for our upcoming Sesame trip Chat Icon

I would pick Dutch Wonderland over the other two. They have a little waterpark there also.

MY DS is the same age and we are taking him to Sesame place because he LOVES Elmo and he LOVES the water. We will probably do both Sesame and DW next year. Hershey park, we will probably wait another year or 2 to take him there unless my sister takes her kids (they are older) and then we will just tag along with them. I would not plan a trip there just for DS yet.

For our Sesame trip we decided to spend the night AFTER the day at the park. My reasoning is that I do not want to sit in the car for the 2+ hour drive home all stinky and smelly from being in water/sun all day. After spending a day in the park I would prefer to shower and relax.

So the plan is to leave early in the morning to get to Sesame Place for the character breakfast. Spend the day at the park and then spend the night in the hotel. Then the next morning we are going to go to the Please Touch Museum in Philly for a few hours and then head home.
