We did the hospital tour today...
I'm glad we went. I was a little skeptical about showing up without an appointment especially since this is a hospital and it can be hectic but the woman I spoke with on the phone said we could just come in. We lucked out because the Maternity floor was not busy today and one of the nurses gave us the tour. She was sooooooooooooooooooo nice and answered all of our questions with no attitude. Very friendly and that's the sense I got from the whole staff on the maternity floor. She said all the staff is like family cuz they have all been working together for years. What I like is that everything is on one floor, the L&D, the nursery, the room where they perform C-sections, the NICU (which is a level 3, she said that's a very excellent unit), the recovery rooms and the evaluation rooms.
I am delivering at Flushing Medical Hospital...

I loved the L & D tour at my hospital, too. It really set my mind at ease. Glad to hear it went well.

Flushing Hospital is getting great reviews for delivery lately. One of my girlfriends was there a week before giving birth (at LIJ) because of some preterm contractions and loved the facility. She wished she could have delivered there.

I'm to hear it's been getting great reviews, the nurse who did the tour was really nice. DH wants her in the room on the day I deliver...LOL She said to just ask for her on that day, if she's working that day of course.
