We are officially homeowners!!
Happy to report that the closing went pretty smoothly and we are officially NJ homeowners.
I recommend to all those who are closing to review all documents very carefully. DH and I found a couple of major errors. For example they were charging us for a mortgage app fee that we had already paid. So they had to write us a check for $695 to make us whole. In addition they had written the wrong rate on our home equity loan and we would have been paying 8.25% instead of 7.25%. In the end everything worked out and the closing was only about an hour and half.
I highly recommend dealing with Chase directly as the fees associated with the closing were considerably less than other lenders. Even my attorney commented on the fact that the closing costs were very low.
After the closing DH and I headed back to the house and did some ceremonial tear downs of super ugly and old curtains, a desk in the kitchen etc etc...which was an amazing feeling as it is all now 100% our money pitt 
Tons of work coming our way, but we are super excited

congrats! where in nj? we're in middlesex moving to mercer county.
funny thing about chase. we're using them too and several times i have caught "errors" that they have made and we haven't even closed yet. when i got my loan docs there were points added in that weren't supposed to be there. it was supposedly taken care of, but when everything was transferred over to the loan processor, the points were back. they also were giving me a higher interest rate on the HELOC than they originally said. i wouldn't have found out any of this if i hadn't asked. i'm hoping for no problems at closing. i wonder if these things really are "mistakes" or this is just the way chase does business hoping that you won't catch the mistakes.

The house is in Millburn, NJ - Essex County.
I truly believe that the errors were just mistakes and not intentional. Our loan processor was really great and at the end of the day she was totally on top of correcting everything. I get the feeling that they just have so many of these that there is human error. That said, they really need to do some better due diligence and double checking. This is big $$$.

Yes, my company provided me with an offer that I couldn't refuse. I figure I will stick with it for another year or two until we have a family
