Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

I had a MISERABLE pregnancy. I never thought I'd go through that ordeal again but now I'm thinking about Baby #2 in 2010 or 2011.

The second was better. I only had MS for 6 months as opposed to the whole time. Plus I gained over 50lbs with DS, and the second time I only gained 12.

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

both of mine were terrible with the same symptoms etc. second wasn't quite as severe as hte 1st, but it wasn't good, which is why my kids are almost 5 years apart. i won't be having a 3rd though, no question about that.

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

My second pregnancy was worse with regard to morning sickness. With my DS I was sick from 6-9 wks and that was it. This time around it started b/f 6 wks and lasted until 16 wks Chat Icon I am having a girl this time - not sure if that makes a difference.

Mine were pretty much the same. Felt great, hardly gained any weight, can't complain at all.

I was more tired with the 2nd one but that could have been chasing a toddler & working. I would come home & fall asleep on the couch.

I was a little sicker with my 2nd but still not too bad, gained a lot less weight & carried completely different.

Sorry to say they were both awfulChat Icon So sick both times.

The good news was #2 did seem faster. The last 20 weeks FLEW. The beinging was rougher from being sick and constant worry over mc.

That being said both were totally worth it!Chat Icon

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

in the beginning it was worse - i never threw up but i was nauseous from week 5 to week 14. but now i feel exactly the same. just more tired at night, but that has a lot more to do with my job than with the pregnancy. DS is in bed by 7 so i have plenty of time to rest!!

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

I had similar pregnancies

uneventful
no ms, no vomiting, etc
slept well until the last month

I got very luck, aside from having to take lovenox injections daily in my stomach

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

Well, for the most part, my second pregnancy is very similar to my first (I am currently 32 weeks)

However, my morning sickness was much worse with this one. I started getting morning sickness earlier than with the first and it lasted about 4 weeks longer, and it was twice as bad while I had it. Chat Icon

But everything else seems to be the same. Same weight gain, same overall good pregnancy.

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

My 2nd pregnancy was a bit harder, had M/S longer, had GD, had every single symptom. Now my 3rd pregnancy seems to be a lot easier, m/s lasted really on for a month or so, my sugar has been great and I only gained 3lbs, no other real symptoms aside from the sore boobies in the beginning

Re: Was your first pregnancy anything like your second pregnancy?

I'm almost 20 weeks into my 2nd pg. This one is worse than my 1st. I had nausea for about 20 weeks with my 1st, but only got sick once. I was able to sleep. I didn't gain much weight (only 12.5 lbs).

This time around I'm still getting sick pretty much every single morning. I've developed car sickness, I'm sooo tired but I can't seem to sleep. I have a lot of pelvic pain. It hurts to sit/to get up from sitting. I haven't really gained any weight (only up 1lb so far) so that's the same so far.

My first was a little easier. The second time I had awful m/s which I didn't have at all the first time.

same here...only difference was m/s started a little late with this pregnancy (6.5 weeks) versus my last one (started at 5 weeks). I have bad heartburn with both too

So far this pregnancy was a little more difficult in the first trimester but absolutely the same in the second...except for more heartburn.
