Wanted to share two things I experienced this week...
So, I was never a believer in the after-life until I started working at my school. I've experienced certain things and so have many others I work with. It's made me a believer, at least to some extent. That being said, we returned from Florida today for my grandfather's funeral. Yesterday, as we were getting ready to leave my grandmother's house, Ava walked into her bedroom and over to my grandfather's bed (they had separate twin beds), kind of leaned on the bed and started having a conversation with someone who wasn't there. She was looking kind of up and babbling, then saying yes and laughing. She doesn't ever really do anything like this. She was also saying "grandpa". She never met my grandfather and has never been to their house. I just found it weird. My sister and I stood at the door and watched her for a few minutes, then she just walked out of the room again.
So, then, I got home tonight and was making Ava's dinner. She was sitting in her high chair kind of behind me playing with a book, and JT was outside. As I was cutting her chicken, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this really big, white moth flying towards me, so I turned to kind of duck, but it was like there was light shining from it and it was so bright that I had to shut my eyes. When I opened them again, I saw it out of the corner of my eye again and I went to follow it, but there was nothing there. I looked all around the house, but nothing. Just so weird. I don't know what it was or if it was anything but it definitely was not my imagination. I just can't stop thinking about it now.

Wow....both of those instances are amazing and crazy...I definitely "beleive" that those thing can happen, although I've never personally experienced it. How great would it be if Ava really did talk to him in some way!
BTW, so sorry for your loss...hoping that you can find solace in your recent experiences!

I'm so sorry for your loss.  
I swear my grandparents send me little signs here and there too. About a month ago, my 5 year old son actually said a phrase that my grandfather said every so often - but he never heard him say it. It blew my mind away because I don't know where he would have gotten it from - there is just no way it was coincidence.

Wow, first of all sorry for your loss. I totally believe that children have experiences like this all the time because they are so open to it. Also, I believe that moths/butterflies do come to me after a loved one has passed. I've had this happen a few times.

Rachel -- I totally think that white moths symbolize someone coming to see us ...... My DH and I saw them a lot the summer that his mom passed away and we continue to see them often and in the strangest of ways.
We drove to Boston one year and there was a month circling our car the whole way there ---- from when we left the house, stopped at rest stops and got there, it was always around our car.

Sorry for your loss. That is some story. I sooo believe that children can see spirits. I find it comforting that your grandfather is trying to make his presence known in your house. It truly makes me believe they're around us always.
As for that light thing...I would have been totally freaked out...

WOW Rachel...I have chills! The thing with Ava...that is incredible! I have heard stories about children doing that...it really amazes me!
So sorry for your loss...but you know he is with you for sure!
