1. does anyone here know if coxsackie was going around from this pool?
2. what do they have for toddlers?

My ped and an ER doc told me it can't be passed around from a pool. They said that with all the chemicals it gets killed.

When I asked the ER doc he said well does your DS swim in a swamp? Then if so he can get it. Not from a pool. He was a little rude about it.

I always thought this too. That is why I was confused when they both said no.

My DR said they CAN get it from pools, the virus can stay alive for over a week, it doesn't matter if there pools are super clean or not. My niece got it 3 time last summer from camp. Its the public pools.

I've been going to public pools my whole life. Never even heard of coxackie until I was on this site. My kids have been at the Syosset pool just about every day this summer and we have had no issues.
