wall decor

So I finally put up a window scarf across my huge living room window and it looks pretty good, but now it looks like something is needed on the wall space between the window and the ceiling. I was thinking of something other than artwork, since we already have some for the other wall and I don't want it to clash. Any suggestions ? I'm waiting for my resized image, I'll update later. Thanks!

Re: wall decor

I know you were thinking of decor/wall art but I think you need some nice crown moulding. It would look great and you wouldn't need anything else - JMO

Also where did you find that scarf and how large is the window? I have an 8 foot wide window in my LR and can not find anything large enough for it

Re: wall decor

you could put a swag of dried flowers...
or they sell "wall words" that you rub onto the wall.

we ordered one that says "home is where your story begins..."

I personally wouldnt put anything above the window, I think it looks nice the way it is...

unless you want to do molding (maybe white) like someone else suggested

I like the scarf.... it is longChat Icon Where did you find it?
It would look great if you layered it with another scarf in a different color!

Re: wall decor

Thanks for your compliments ladies! I actually was having a hard time finding a long scarf so I bought the fabric at Joann's and got the sconces at Marburn Curtain! I bought 8 yards worth and the window is about 9'8'' or so. I think I am going to live with it for now and get used to it. We would like to eventually put crown molding up anyway, so thanks for the tip Chat Icon

The molding would be nice, and other ideas mentioned, like the phrases or a swag. I would also suggest a sheer fabric to go along with what you have. You could also intertwine something into the curtain along the top, like a string of crystals or beading. Somthing subtle.

Re: wall decor

It looks great. You can try to get a longer framed piece to hang over the window. I have seen different lenghts at Linens and Things. Also...(not sure of your location) but in the town of Sayville along Main Street there are some great stores and they sell such cute home decor things.

Good Luck. It's looking really good!! Chat Icon
