Vitamin question for toddlers - non-flouride vitamins

I recently, on my own, decided to try an organic vitamin for my 2 year old and my 14 month old. The vitamin does NOT contain flouride, as opposed to what the doctor gave us (Poly Vitsol). I'm more comfortable with not having a flouide vitamin and there an ingredient in the new vitamin that has been found helpful in kids with my older daughter's needs, plus my little DD won't even take the flouridated one, she hates the taste and we end up with purplish stains on all her clothes b/c of the fight she puts up and/or spits it out. However, I am wondering what other mom's who do not use flouridated vitamins, how do you ensure your child's teeth stay healthy beyond brushing with non-flouride toothpaste (they are too young for flouride toothpaste). I do not allow candy, but know the reality is one day I won't have as much control, daycare alone I lose some control on their sugar intake. We live on the island, where there is not substantial flouride in the water. There are a number of reasons for my preference of the new vitamin, but am of course concerned about dental health. Any suggestions?

TIA!

Poly-vi-sol does not have fluoride in it either.

Poly-vi-flor does.

There is a fluoride only drop that is prescription or a fluoride only chewable(very small pill) that is prescription.

The vitamins with floride vitamins turned DS' teeth gray so we tried Flintstone vitamins called My First Flintstones or something like that. There is no iron or floride in them. DS is 3 so I do use adult toothpaste with floride, the ped said it was fine as long it was a tiny bit of toothpaste so even if he swallowed it, it was fine.
