Very excited. Just bought my first lawn mower.
After researching on ConsumerReports.org, Amazon.com reviews, Simon.com prices... We finally settled on:
Black and Decker
NO GAS
Electric/Battery cordless
24 Volt
19" deck
Mulching lawn mower
$400. from Amazon
Ta daaaaaa!
I never thought I would get so excited about mowing my lawn! 
It's super quiet, better for the environment and I can mow my entire 1/4 acre on one charge. It's not self propelled so it's not for everyone - but I have a level yard so it's not a worry for me.
And since it's not god-awful noisy, I can mow whenever the heck I want. Which is great, considering I'm up at the crack of dawn on weekends, and I could even mow when I get home from work if I wanted.
I have super thick and healthy Zoysia grass over most of my yard so I will be cutting it high - 3 inches - and letting it mulch to keep it healthy instead of removing the clippings. Also, Zoyzia grows slow, so no weekly mowing for me! 
I also bought a string trimmer:

It's the little things that make us happy sometimes.  Very nice. I will have to tell DH about this one. Hopefully ours starts up this year. {{fingers crossed}} Have fun mowing!

Congrats!
I can't believe that string trimmer was only $50! Ours is only 1 year old, but it LEAKS like crazy! I may be looking to replace and that is a great deal!
