Verizon DSL vs. Optimum Online
DH and I are looking to start setting up our utilities for the new house.
We currently have Opt Online and was wondering if anyone has any experience with Verizon's DSL (good, bad, ugly).

I have Verizon (dont want to jinx myself) but I have had no problems. I used to have optimum and I think they are both jsut as fast.

which plan do you have? I know they have two choices of a "slower" and a "faster".

I have Optimum for everything (Cable, phone, and TV) no complaints here. I think for the 3 services I pay $145.

depending on what you do on the internet, you don't need the speed of OOL.... higher speed dsl (vs regular dsl) is cheapier and avg user would get the same feeling of surfing the net...
however, if you get a dell with Opt, say the triple play package, then its worth it cause dsl is 30 and a fraction of the speed

I've had both and I like DSL a lot more. I find that it is more consistent with speed. DH is an IT guy and he says that DSL is much better, especially for the money.
We have the slower one. When we first signed up they only had one speed-which is now considered the slower speed. They didn't let us know that they moved us to the faster speed so that we were paying the same price. DH figured it out and switched us to the slower speed and I have to say it works perfectly. No problems at all and I think it's about $15 a month.

Verizon BLOWS, I'd go with Opt Online.
I had verizon DSL for a year (stupid contract) and it was down more than it was up. FH has Optimum Online and it's been wonderful, no probls whatsoever
