Vancouver/Seattle anyone?

DH really wants to do a Pacific Northwest trip. Has anyone been to that area? What would you recommend doing and seeing?

thanks! Chat Icon

Re: Vancouver/Seattle anyone?

My girlfriend and I went to Seattle last March and had an absolute BLAST!!! There is SO much to do in the downtown area, we were entertained all week! Some of my favorites were...

Argosy Ferry Cruise
Top of the Space Needle (Dinner at Sky City)
The Underground Tour
Walking around Pike Place Market (This could take DAYS!! There is SO much to see)
Experience Music Project
Seattle Aquarium

There's SO many museums and things to see. Alot of history to take in- many things are very natural. The Salmon ANYWHERE is incredible.

We stayed at the Westin on 5th ave. Great hotel. Amazing views from anywhere within the towers.

I used to live near Seattle. It's a fantastic place if you like outdoorsy things. Mt. Rainier isn't far and shouldn't be missed. There are some well traveled, paved trails near the Paradise visitor center, so you won't even need to rough it.

The city parks are lovely -- especially Discovery -- and you can spend a day of lounging at the beaches in Green Lake.

There are lots of microbreweries you can tour. Redhook is very popular, though Pyramid is better. Free beer!

Victoria (on Vancouver Island) is great for a day trip or overnight. You can get a ferry from Anacortes, about an hour's drive north from Seattle.

You can also get a ferry to Bainbridge Island and from there get to Olympic National Park.

I would recommend going in the summer -- you'll have a better chance of sunshine than in the spring.
