UTI??

I had my first doc. Appointment just a week ago. Got a phone call today that I have a UTI! They are putting me on antibiotics. My question is since I got one so early in my pg, I'm I now prone to get it again? (I have not had a UTI in over 10 years). Also, the lack of the normal signs of a UTI don't help, how will I know if I get another??!

You may or may not, I had one at 30 weeks and I am now 35 1/2 weeks and have not had one since...
I also have been drinking a lot of cranberry juice, and eating dried cranberries...

Everytime you go to the dr, they check your urine so I would imagine they would know if you didn't. Just because you have one now doesn't mean you will get one soon after. Just try and keep drinking lots of water and ask the dr what you can do to keep from getting it again. They are very common.

I realize that you aren't there yet but I just need to tell you that UTIs are very, VERY serious in your last trimester. Please be sure to see your doctor if you suspect that you have one at any time during your pregnancy.

I have a long history of UTIs, so I took notice of the articles that came out about them while I was pregnant. Luckily I didn't have one but was completely paranoid the entire 3rd trimester since I was peeing every 10 minutes.
