Urine in DS's blood and Ped testing for strep

I am so confused. I wish I had gone with my DH and DS to the ped but i had to work. My DS had pink color urine toward the end of urinating last night. Called the ped and took him there in the AM. It's not UTI...they did a ton of bloodwork and we will have the results asap. PEd said it was probably strep. I've never heard of such a thing. Has anyone else? I am so so nervous. Afraid of a serious kidney issue.

Yes, I have heard of it, I know someone who had this after untreated strep throat without any residual problems.
