UPDATED with Before and After pics!!! Kitchen wall color for kitchen with white cabinets?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a kitchen wall color to go with white cabinets? I think we want something light; we have a very large kitchen and dark walls could make it look like a cave.
We just painted the cabinets and are shopping around for a color.
Thanks so much for all the replies! CurlyQ's pics were really my inspiration, and though our kitchen isn't as nice as hers, here is our before (pics from previous owners from our walk through), and after!

I think a sage green, soemthing on the lighter side - or a medium-light tone blue
I would stay away from darker earth tones...

a gray/green color would be nice. check out CaMacho kitchen. But you would have to ask her what color her walls are.
Or you could go with a silver/blue color.
Or a light sage. We have BM Nantucket Breeze in our 2nd bedroom.
Or a nice creamy yellow, not bright.

Appliances are white, and countertop is white, but we are probably replacing it with a tan granite.

Appliances are white, and countertop is white, but we are probably replacing it with a tan granite.
I'd wait then, to see what colors are in the granite that you can pick up and highlight.
I just did that in my kitchen, wanted to paint it BM Hawthorne Yellow, but once the countertops went in, the yellow doesn't look good. I'll probably paint it BM Philadelphia Cream.

I think white cabinets can go with a lot different colors. One of my friend's kitchen also has white cabinets and she has red walls with black granite counter tops. It looks pretty nice. If red is too bold for you, maybe try a more neutral version of green.

I have a light yellow/beige with my white cabinets.
Before Granite:
After granite and view of nook which is 1 shade darker in color.

I think anything in the lightish to med blue would look sharp so that the room still looks big too without such a dark color

I wanted to re-do our kitchen w/ white cabinets.. although that's not happening now, I'm still painting the kitchen a faint blue- BM Quiet Moments OR, a hint darker than that is BM Beach Glass.
(I'm trying to figure out which one would look best w/ the dishes and turquoise accents I have)

We have white cabinets, white appliances, black and brown granite and BM Shaker Beige on the wallls with white trim.

What color are your tiles? If your tiles are a tannish color you could try, BM adobe beige.

beige (ish) light yellow (ish) will look really nice. maybe even very light brown (mocha (?) or whatever they call it)

We didn't finish all of them yet, but I will definitely take pics of the entire wall! It's actually a huge kitchen--15 drawers and 30 doors (we took off the door pulls, filled one of the holes, and added the knobs), so it's slow going!
