Updated!!! Construction pics...(DAY 2 IS COMPLETE (MY LATEST POST)
My buddy Phil (Peadboy's DH) came over to work on our kitchen. Phil is not only a great friend to me and my DW but he is awesome and loves what he does..."Construction"
Here are the results of Day 1... it started this morning at 9am with a trip or 2 to home depot and lots of power tools and Phil's great mind.
Tara: thanks for letting phil hang out with us for the day... we fed him good food and had some good laughs
Phil: this is sick, we cleaned up a little and actually just looked back and said WOW!!!!
I know we got some work ahead of us but Thanks for this...

i should add, we added a bench with storage to our kitchen nook that we had and an a shelf on our empty wall. crown molding was put in kitchen and bathroom... now we have to prime, sand, paint and fill holes

we've started our homework. It's going to be a lot of work. But, it will all be worth it in the end. And.. it's not as much work as was put into making and installing the molding and bench.
I can't wait for my bench to be done and painted and for me to sit there with a cup of coffee and wait for DH to get home from work... 
Or... to just sit there and spy on the neighbors

yes...some before pictures would help...have to find them..
yes, we have just the tile all the way to the window...so we squared off the room and made a bench under the windos in the cove thingy...
of course...we plan to be done by wed/thursday

heheh.. Thanks!!!! Tonight is more sanding, then priming, and caulking. SO far, so good!! It's actually been fun too!

i guess i can call this day 2 work..... paint is on the bench, and i now have a "compukitchen"
pic 1 - bench with door open and speakers showing (speakers are gonna be installed on the wall soon)
pic 2 - shelf with compukitchen
pic 3 - bench color - i forget the color but its a behr color and the trim is chocolate spakle (same as our walls)
pic 4 - our compukithchen lives!!!
if your wonding what a compukitchen is, its a computer with a touch screen monitor...
so when DW decides to cook (for once), she can bring up receipes from the internet or where ever. It also serves as an MP3 jukebox, little game station (nintendo, etc..), watch DVD and a future project will to get Cable TV installed in there. It seems wireless right???? no, that was alot of work espically since i didn't plan this in advance. (don't worry phil, didn't touch the bench - indirectly)
Day 3 will be the clean up part. Have some touch up paint to do everywhere, DW is getting a top cushion pad for the bench. Oh, and i have to fix the bottom molding on the compukitchen...the bottom peice will be the same shape as bottom of the monitor. And thats it.... Image Attachment(s):
