UPDATED 1st post.. Beta result ??
i'm probably the most impatient person EVER. I went for a 2nd beta yesterday afternoon and I was told by the nurse I'd hear back either later last night or first thing this morning.
The office opened at 8am and i'm still sitting here waiting
I called and left a message and nothing.
I just want to know if everything looks Ok. Theres no way I cant hear from them today and then have to try again on Monday.
sorry i'm just upset lol
what should I do?? I believe the office closes at 4 today. Should I continue calling like a psycho or just wait it out?
UPDATE:
Ok so the OB FINALLY called (about 5 mins ago) he said this...
Beta on 1/6 152
Beta on 1/8 274 (not exactly doubled)
Progesterone was 18.8 then 20.2
He didnt sound too concerned about the numbers and wants me to come in in 2 weeks for another sono and more blood.
i'm FREAKING OUT though that the numbers didnt double. Please help i'm so nervous

I would call, and if didnt hear by 3.. I would go in person.. the stress your going under worrying about them isnt good for the baby. Not sure if your office is open tomorrow, but for me I couldnt wait until monday, so therefore would go in person if didnt hear by 3.

maybe everythings okay..my friend never got her resluts for her a test she took shes like 9 weeks. but they just recently called her..im not sure just keep calling until they pick up

No need to freak out. The numbers don't NEED to double, they need to rise at least 60%, and your number rose more than that.

The numbers don't have to double...more than 60% increase in 48 hours is sufficient! THe important thing is that they did rise significantly... i wouldn't worry!!!

okay, first thing to know - progesterone fluctuates....
your beta number i THINK should double every 48 hours...was it 48 hours or short of 48 hours when you had yours done??? maybe those few hours could matter??? (like if first one was done at 2:00 PM and the other was done at 9:30 AM)???

My doctor never talked about betas in the beginning or ever. I don't think you should worry if you are not cramping/bleeding.

I took about four beta's and only one doubled. After that they just got higher but didn't double. I was also told that your numbers should double every 48 to 72 hours. For you doubling may take closer to the 72 hour mark.

Your numbers did rise, it may not have doubled but it is pretty close to having doubled. It's only off by like 30 points. I think you doing fine. Try not to freak out too much. Keep your chin up!

Try not to freak out...My numbers did exactly double at first either...but the progesterone level looks great...my Dr was VERY pleased and mine was 22....don't worry....as long as they are significantly going up that's a good sign!!!

yes he sounded pleased with my progesterone too.
Im calm now and I have an appt in 2 weeks to hopefully see a lil bean!

I think doubling should take 48-72 hours so that's no bad since you were close. Hopefully you're next results come out even better

those are great numbers... for them to actually double it's really sometimes up to 72 hours, but since they usually come close to doubling in 48 hours, doctors usually do the 48 hour test. You got good news! Mine didn't "exactly" double once or twice in the beginning, but it did catch up big time later!
